Hi there! I am a soon-to-be PhD student back living in the UK after living in Antwerp for 2 years, and looking to travel as much as I can this summer before I start my PhD in September and will no longer have as much freedom to do so.
Things I like to do include reading, baking, rock climbing, cycling and obviously travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people. In my free time I am also trying to learn Spanish and I'd love to practice with some Spanish speaking people :)

I am on couch surfing as I love travelling and the idea of joining and contributing to a community which allows easier, more affordable and more enjoyable travel for all involved is super exciting. Though the best thing is being able to meet local people who can show me the best of a new place.

I am interested in lots of different things, and in general I just like hearing about people's passions. Though if I had to make a list I would say reading, good films, politics (though I'm not very knowledgeable), science, rock climbing, cycling/bikes, snowboarding/skiing and other similar sports (though i have little experience of others).

I like lots of different types of music, and mostly I find that my favourites at that time are just what the people around me are playing. There are just too many good movies to make a list of my favourites but in general I don't like horror (though I did recently see 'a girl walks home alone at night' which I loved). Other than that I like all genres. In films I mostly look for something visually beautiful.
As for books, I have been trying to read as many of the classics as possible (though there are so many, and always more being added to the list). I am currently reading Kafka 'metamorphosis and other stories' which I am enjoying, though I find Kafka's writing style a bit difficult to get into. A recent favourite that I read was 'no one belongs here more than you' by Miranda July.
