I am a Dutch MD who loves to travel and to meet new people.
I realised that in life you (normally) always will be sort of 1 of three necessities to travel: when you are young you have time and energy but no money, in midlife you have money and energy but no time, and when you are old you lack the energy but have time and money. So I try to travel my life with this in mind. There will always be an excuse not to go off the beaten track.

I am interested in (modern) art, (the making of) craft beers, design and architecture during the day, and in the evening I like to enjoy local food and a concert. This can be opera to minimal-music, Techno as well as Classic.

Before I started working I travelled quite a bit, and saw all continents (most of them a few times) and travelled like the locals and stayed with the locals.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a good solution since free time/ time to travel by myself became scarce for me. Finding new persons, local or travellers, to hang out with is still important and interesting. Couchsurfing gives me a platform to do just that. Giving me the chance to experience a sense of local life. During my travels I received so much hospitality and friendships. This is a way of giving it back and experiencing the power of it again.

I love to learn the stories behind local customs, as everything has its reason of existence. Like evolution created all the different species influenced by and adapted to their local habitat, culture is too (to my opinion).
