About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rise and shine - daily.

ABOUT ME

Maybe not crazy but crazy enough, down-to-earth but head-in-the-sky, good talker but better listener, seriously nearly always with a smile on my face.

PHILOSOPHY

There are so many things to say about life. I'm just not able to sum it up. Maybe two of the most basic things are to appreciate what you've got and never stop trying to reach the horizon. It also might help to live every day as if it were your last. And not to forget: Keep smiling!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After a two year's break during which I tried to organise my life I'm now back on couchsurfing because I am still convinced that it is just an amazing concept. One of the rare positive side-effects of globalization.
Even though I'm not sure if I'll be able to host many people I'll keep on spreading the word and hopefully meet many people in my hometown Linz.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing when I went to spend a couple of months in London, back in 2007 and it was just a great experience to have a such a warm welcome when you arrive at a new place completely alone. Even when I had found a place to live, the couchsurfing platform proved itself as the ideal tool to get into touch with many interesting people and it made my stay an even more unforgettable experience.
Now, after having returned to Austria and gone through a quite chaotic period (during which I've neglected keeping updated on couchsurfing), it seems that I finally get settled ... So it's about time to give back what I've got in some way !

Music, Movies, and Books

You come across so many films and books. Only some of them really reach you in a way that makes you remember them immediately on such occasions ...
films: fight club, matrix (1), hero, romeo+juliet, le fabouleux déstin d'amélie poulain, talk to her, caché, bridget jones, and so many more i can't think of right now.
books by: josé saramago, tracy chevalier, haruki murakami, toni morrison, nick hornby; ...
music: depends so much on mood&occasion - from bach to vivaldi; from jazz to breakbeats; from soul to hip-hop; from solo-guitar to brass-orchestra; from sing-along to shake-your-arse

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to London with nothing but a suitcase and a couchsurfing contact and the plan to stay.
