About Me
CURRENT MISSION
You people are great. And so are we.
ABOUT ME
******First things first***** I don't host surfers without REFERENCES. Sorry, these are the rules******
Todor and I had a mutual profile for like two years and we have decided to part ways. It will take some time to arrange the information etc etc etc e t c.
So here I am - Geri.
An Alice in Wonderland
in a wonderful Sofia
seeking new adventures
finding good music
losing stereotypes
wasting time.
You may find me workaholicking or staring into space or dancing but mostly laughing out loud.
And would appreciate anybody who brings happy moments in my crazy universe :)
PHILOSOPHY
For the love of odd.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Here's the deal. Todor is going abroad these days so for the time being he is not around and it's my (Gergana's) couch you're going to surf. There is also a tremendous possibility that I help you spend some quality time in Sofia, sightseeing or pubseeing, or when requested! meet some of my students:)
If however you don't have any references, pictures and full profile my answer will be no so don't bother to write.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Gergana's sister had a profile in couchsurfing and had a lot of surfers coming at her place in Plovdiv. All of them were extraordinary people and once when visiting her sister Gergana ended up spending an amazing New Year's Eve with an American surferess. Since then the memory still lingers on:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived a month in Israel together with a Jewish concentration camp survivor and took her last interview before she died at the age of 99. She told me some weird things about surviving in Birkenau and meeting the evilest doctor, take your guesses, yep Mengele.
I have lived with the oldest man from Haskovo in a box near my bed. His estimated age was 16 000 years. Together with him there was an evil child's bones because my friend-an archeologist started nosebleeding while excavating it.
Through the years while being a student in Sofia University I had changed more than 50 roommates, and no, not because of my horrible personality :D But have shared living space with archeologists, hairdressers, drugdealers, strippers etc etc
Through Couchsurfing and the greatest London host I got to visit accidentally the World Darts Championship, VIP sector in Alexandria Palace, wearing my last clean shirt and being 1 of 6 women in that particular sector. I drank champagne at 11, had delicious luncheon before the show in the VIP while the host explained we would be live on Eurosport so no waving at the camera. Funny thing was 10 hours before that I had gulped two expired sandwiches at a bus stop because so damn short in cash.
I met the End of the World -22.12.2012- together with a bunch of believers that claim that London had been built in Sacred Geometry proportion and the centre of the world is near Oxford Street. After meditating a little in front of the church scaring some passers-by, 2 of the guys accidentally took me to my Desktop picture. Yep. I had to recover for about an hour to really believe that this incredible coincidence had happened.
After 18 hours flying from Sofia to Chicago I went to Lollapalooza to miss my favourite ever band - Alt J :/ then went to a venue where they were playing. I was ticketless and the show was sold out, of course. I spent an hour asking every person if they had extra tickets (together with 7-8 people like me). At the last moment a girl jumped out and gave away 5 tickets to me and 4 other people waiting for free :D Alt J!!!!!!
I wrote my dissertation about my favourite club Stroeja and two parties- Swing and Britspotting- and got a Master in Arts degree thanks to drinking there. Now I'm writing my PHD about Alternative Music and have to go to concerts, meet musicians and play in a band xaxa
When in Scotland I wanted to go to a proper church where there is a priest who talks because in Bulgaria we don't have these. I and Todor accidentally wound up in the sect of the Christadelphians (we later googled it) aaaand we were blessed :D
Spent the first hours of New Year's Eve in Edinburgh sleeping on the benches in the Bus Station.
Hitchhiked 500 km for a day together with a friend crossing Bulgaria east-west then north-south to get to a beach camp party.
Was promoted from volunteer to a producer at the Mr and Ms Deaf International Beauty Contest in Sofia/Bulgaria. Then got an offer from one of the executive producers to work as a producer in LA for a Fashion Television.
In NY we slept in the Jane hotel where the survivors from Titanic had been kept while the questioning of the police was taking place.
Went to the Hives concert and accidentally I and Todor met the frontman+got a guitar pick (in Scotland). In America I went to Alt J concert-for free, in Romania went to Jack White concert and although I had bought a "normal ticket" one of my friends gave me his "golden circle" ticket, then they drove me to the front of the front stage grasping the rails and what do you know- caught a drum stick!!
Got offered a radio show at a students' radio station and accidentally started conducting interviews on the National Bulgarian Radio with young alternative bands.
Fuck empire state building. Try taking a NIGHT plane from New York. All the plane gasped. Awesome!
Teach, Learn, Share
Xa, I'm actually teaching English and was a student in Cultural Anthropology (Gergana) so for me learning and teaching is a thing I do on regular basis. I try to keep an open mind and thus better understand my own world and the Bulgarian way of thinking and culture which I can gladly share with you.
