About Me

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hi 🌞

Important: I currently host individuals with references (I apologize if you're new to this).

Let's set things straight: Couchsurfing is by no means connected to flirting or romance—it's not a platform like Tinder. To me, Couchsurfing is all about extending a helping hand and sharing. 🍀

I don't have internet at home. If you need internet, you'll need a different host, as I can't provide it.

If I welcome you into my home, I kindly ask that you inform me about any unexpected changes. However, providing a notice just 2 hours before changes occur is not sufficient, unless it's due to illness. Your visit often requires me to adjust my plans and even decline other guests.

If a guest informs me less than 24 hours before their intended arrival that they can't come, except due to illness or a missed flight, it triggers a negative review.

On a few occasions, I have experienced a guest failing to appear at the agreed time without notifying me. When I reached out to them, they informed me that they were in another country or city (having suddenly changed their plans without considering to let me know). Such behavior automatically results in a negative reference due to the lack of consideration. A fair warning isn't a betrayal.

Given that my apt is small, please, don't clean your dishes before 9 am. Offering food one day doesn't mean you can help yourself to whatever you see in the fridge the next day. Please refrain from eating my food without asking. After using the towels, please hang them in the garden. I’d prefer to avoid any smells in the small apt.

I can only accommodate one guest at a time and I would prefer to host for one day.

I have a large bed and a big sofa, so you can sleep on the bed and I sleep on the sofa. Since we’ll be sharing space, please wear appropriate clothing. So, please bring pajamas (the space is limited and I don’t want to see you in underwear).

If you're on a tight budget, please let me know, and I’d be happy to prepare a meal for you.

One issue I face is that, living in a studio, I feel stressed if I can't watch a movie because I have guests over (this is why i was not hosting lately). It's important for you to know that I need to be able to watch whatever I want without feeling deprived of this small indulgence, even when I'm hosting someone (I do have headphones so you don't need to watch the same movie / series).

If you don’t speak English or Spanish or German well, I’m afraid I won’t be able to host you. I do have strong Spanish accent. Effective communication is very important, and it would be challenging for both of us if we are unable to understand each other, even after multiple attempts.

In terms of etiquette, I kindly ask that if you stay with me, you avoid meeting with anyone who has Covid.

Starting September 11th, we will have my cat, Sugar, in the apartment. I’m thinking of buying several beds for him so he can sleep in the hallway. However, I’m not sure where he will prefer to sleep.

Please also be aware that I do not have internet access at home.

I want you to feel completely at home and do whatever you like. I offer everything I have. The only thing I would appreciate, which I think is reasonable, is if you could let me know a bit about your plans—whether you’ll be back late or if you want to do an activity or not. This helps me organize myself, especially since the space is limited.

If you do decide to visit, you should know what to expect. Thank you for your attention. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Gerry
