Hey, my name is Gesine, I‘m a German/Dutch girl living in Berlin, Germany.
Although I am only 18 years old, I have travelled quite a lot (for example to Thailand, India, New Zealand, Jamaica, Curacao, New York City, Senegal and many countries in Europe) and I want to travel as much more as possible. I just finished school and after the summer I will go to New Zealand for a year to do “work and travel” but before that, I want to take some trips with my friends from Berlin to have a proper goodbye before I leave them for more than a year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the local culture when traveling to a new country. Staying in a hotel is so different from “real life” in most countries so couchsurfing is a great way to experience the local culture and also make new friends. In countries that are really different from where I live, it is also nice and reassuring to have someone I can talk to or ask something when I have a problem.

Interests

Like every other couchsurfer I obviously love traveling. But apart from that, I like hanging out with my friends and going outside, for example to the parc for a Picknick or to a nearby lake for a swim. I try to work out regularly but I honestly find it hard to keep up with it so it’s more of a once every one or two weeks thing :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went to Sweden with my big sister. We rented a car and travelled around for two weeks. We slept in the car most of the nights and we had to look quite a bit to find showers on a regular basis but it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. My sister and I bonded a lot, met new people and saw such beautiful scenery, it couldn’t have been any better.
