ABOUT ME

We enjoy lighthearted conversation with pleasant people in nice places. We are recent college graduates reconnecting with family, absorbing culture, and avoiding the real world while we spend four months traveling around Europe. We feel really lucky to have this opportunity and want couchsurfing to be a huge part of our journeys. Frank studies Forestry in a Master's program at Yale, and will pick up your guitar and play some classic songs with some not so classic lyrics. Alexa is an Environmental Educator bringing kids outside to hike, garden, make campfires, and learn about how awesome nature is! She can transform your pantry into something you wouldn't have thought of.

We like a lot of music, and want to hear more of it. We love jam bands and anything that gets your feet moving. Some favorites include The Felice Brothers, Animal Collective, Bright Eyes, Fleet Foxes, James Blake, The Grateful Dead, Phish, Grizzly Bear, Neon Indian, Why?, Yeasayer, and Lotus. Frank's favorite author is Stephen King; "IT changed my life". Alexa is overwhelmed by this question since she worked at a bookstore with too many awesome options. In general, books with character development, imagery, philosophical undertones, dystopian overtones, optimistic endings, realistic visions, or puns. Movies too (Alexa will fall asleep during most movies - a horrible habit she is trying to kick).

Frank - I spent an afternoon wandering the ruins of Pompeii in a daze of disbelief.
Alexa - I canoed the beautiful Allagash River in Maine for 2 weeks, trying to keep 12 angsty (yet awesome) teenagers happy and inspired.
