About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around and see where I best fit. Find others who just want to try something different.

ABOUT ME

Philadelphia has been treating me pretty well since I have been here. Just had my 4 year anniversary here on March 19th 2013.
I am a part time barber at a fast paced barber shop in center city.
I really enjoy doing what I do. I stepped out of doing that for a little over a year and came back to it. I work there 3 days a week and in my free time work on projects involving independent video games and art.

PHILOSOPHY

I really like to idea of DIY anything. The idea that if you have the tools to make something work without buying a new one then you should do it.
The idea that if a computer is broken then you probably don't need a new one. You just need to asses the problem and replace that part.
I feel the same way about what I want to do for my life.
If there is something in your head that you want to get out you should feel like you have the tools to do it. Programming (in a virtual world) and building (in a non virtual world) are two things I love to do.
I also really love being involved in projects that I think better problem situations going on around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to be able to offer people a nice place to stay for a night or two when they come to town. Just give me a couple of days notice so that I can let my roommate know and we should be good to go!
Friday nights are usually bad for me but other than that I could probably help out.
I hope that I can accommodate you when you are coming through Philly and everything lines up to make that happen!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't have much experience with this site in particular but I am a pretty easy house guest. I have stayed with many friends over the years. Most recently I was working full time in California and decided that I wanted to move back to the East Coast. So I shipped all of my things and decided that I would drive, ride Amtrak and take buses to get home. It was a lot of fun and most of what made it fun was having people along the way help me out with places to stay.
Many people I was close friends with and people I didn't really know at all allowed me room on there floor for 4 and 5 days at a time!
It was nice getting to meet new folks and be in cities I didn't know with people that knew some fun things to do.

Interests

I am very interested in movies and music... which I think most people are. I am a lover of politics and worked in politics for a while.
The thing that really gets me going right now is games.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love horror movies and art movies. I am also a sucker for a great comedy of which there are not enough, in my opinion.

When I do read it is usually non-fiction. Stories about real life and real people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Very simply, I got to work on the most recent Presidential election. It was exciting to say the least.

I have been to Barcelona once around 2006 which was really amazing and Mexico a couple of times when I was younger.

In 2012 my friend and I went to Italy and Spain for 3 weeks and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced. We got to meet incredible people and see some amazing places. I will definitely be going back to Italy soon.

I sort of feel like things I see everyday are amazing.
