Overview
About Me
I'm Giada, a 22-year-old lively and peppy Italian and, as all my friends say, living proof of its perks: excellent cook, outgoing and talkative, innate tendency to gesture and big-hearted like a grandma.
I come from a town in Central Italy, in this unknown region called Marche, where I grew up surrounded by green hills, colourful sunsets on the sea, and typical Italian relatives. After travelling out and about Europe, life has brought me to Bilbao, where I am currently pursuing a Master Degree in International Studies, aka the world's problems and how to fix them.
From this (oops) not-so-short description certainly, you got that I like talking, but I surely prefer listening to other's people experiences: it always amazes me how much life can be surprising!
PS: I tried to describe myself as the girl next door, but I need to make a little confession about an insurmountable flaw: I love singing, but I can't really carry a tune in a bucket. For this reason, if you will ever hear me around the house crooning, I want to apologise in advance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Is a wonderful opportunity to have a glimpse of local life, most of the time we travel we put ourselves in a new context, but to live as the inhabitants of another country do is different, you can fully understand the culture and traditions, especially in the little things.
I think that tourists tend to not truly care about the place they are visiting. The tourist's journey is not anymore an opening movement, on the contrary, it is impermeable to everything, especially to the other person he meets on the road. Insane.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: literally everything, but my favourites are "Doctor Zhivago" by Boris Pasternak, "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, " We Children from Bahnhof Zoo" by Christine F.
Music: my taste swings from De Andrè to Eminem and everything that can be in between, like 30 Seconds To Mars, The 1975, Twenty-One Pilots, Arctic Monkeys, Cigarettes After Sex, Disclosure, Fall Out Boy, Halsey, Lana Del Rey, Ludovico Einaudi, Maroon 5, Mia Martini, Moop Mama, Milky Chance, Negramaro, The Neighbourhood, Panic! At The Disco, Placebo, Salmo, Sam Smith and many many many others.
Movies: I have to admit that I am no expert, but there are quite a few films that I love, such as "Requiem for a Dream", "Forrest Gump", and "Finding Nemo" (I know it by heart, please don't judge). I'd rather give my best watching TV series on Netflix, which I'd better not list here or it would look like the grocery list of a family of 17.
