About Me
Hi, I'm Gian. I was born and raised in Aruba - at the age of 19 I moved to the Netherlands for my studies. Being in Europe and having a European passport gave me the opportunity to go almost everywhere I want, so that's what I'm doing :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We throw parties at our apartment once every few months, my housemate who's a big couch surfing fan always invites random people - one of whom that made a huge impact on my traveling ambitions. It's great to meet so many open-minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With the help of a girl I met from couch surfing I built up the courage to travel alone, spontaneously I bought tickets to Ukraine and within 20 hours I was there.
Not sure what to do and overwhelmed with adrenaline I walked around the snow covered city for an hour before I found my hostel. I had hopes of meeting some people there and hopefully go out and discover Lviv together but unfortunately the hostel was empty.
So I decided to just do everything by myself and went around the entire city. By the time I came back to the hostel I met two really cool guys from Austria and it made my trip 10x better and memorable. So much so that I once again skipped school and spontaneously booked a trip to Krakow with them instead of going back home.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm currently learning the Russian language, which is by far one of the most difficult challenges I've placed myself against, meeting anyone who can help me would be fantastic!
