About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To seize the moment, take on challenges, seek out unique opportunities, and learn what it means to live as the world citizens we are. And to have FUN too!

ABOUT ME

In November 2007, we embarked on our long anticipated and self-titled “Journey of World and Self Discovery.” We left our jobs, sold our cars and said goodbye to our friends and family. This portion of our life is devoted to achieving the dreams and experiences that are so often left by the wayside in the pursuit of “The American Dream.” Our initial leg of the journey was an eight month long unsupported, zig-zagging bicycle tour through Central America. Then, we spent four months caretaking at a remote wilderness hot springs in the Central Cascade Mountains. Following that, we heeded the call to Western Europe for a few months of indulgence. Most recently, we spent 10 months in Kenya working/ volunteering with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) at an HIV project.

PHILOSOPHY

The two most important things in life are relationships and experiences (in that order). Cultivate both and you'll be wealthy beyond measure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Throughout our travels we have couch surfed without the assistance of the "official" website, just meeting locals and staying on their floors, couches, beds, camping in frontyards, backyards, restaurants, and even a stable once. We are excited to now be a part of an organized group that shares a common vision.

Interests

Biking, Hiking, Backpacking (trekking and traveling), bike touring, community, volunteering, making friends, reading, board games, dancing, you name it and we'd love to try it.
