for me, it's a better more "right" way to see and experience the world. it opens a door to see stuff throw local eyes and experience the culture and the place your visiting in a more authentic way. and of course gives the opportunity to meet new people which is always an amazing thing.

surfed some when i traveled in Europe and hosted some in my home in jerusalem, it was always super cool and interesting and quit an awesome experience actually :)
