ABOUT ME

I try to spend my time as productive as possible; i'd say my life goal is to know as much as possible of the world I live in. I have three big interestests: music, literature and geopolitics. I love music and i spend a lot of time listening to music. For those who are curious what kind of music I like, here are some of my favourite artists: Fela Kuti, Notorious BIG, Bob Dylan, Jeff Mills, Theo Parrish, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, De La Soul, the Arctic Monkeys... Besides music I also love to read books, and more specific, English classic novels. As such, i love writers such as Joseph Conrad (Heart of Darkness), Oscar Wilde(the Picture of Dorian Gray), Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) and J.D. Salinger (Catcher in the Reye). My last major interest is international politics in general where currently my main interest is in Europe and the European Union. Beside these three major interests I love to travel and meet new people.
I studied for four years in Ghent where I had a great time. During thos 4 years I also lived for 6 months as an Erasmus student in Aix-En-Provence (France) After that I studied about two years in Antwerp. I now live in Brussels where I work as an advisor European & International Affairs for the Chamber of Commerce. I feel very lucky as I really enjoy this job that allows to meet so many people from different cultural backgrounds.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created a profile on Couchsurfing because I believe the ideal way of travelling is by getting to know the locals who can really show you how life is at the place you are staying at. In addition, I also love to meet people from other countries as they have other insights on various things and thus are really interesting to talk to. As such, I hope I will be able to host people here in Belgium and give them a great time enjoying the Belgian culture (which is not only beer and chocolate;))
