Resumen
Sobre mí
I'm a late-thirties fellow living home-free in NYC. An urban farmer and environmental educator. I make keep expenses low by dumpster diving, urban camping and essentially couch-surfing with an extended network of friends in NYC. I also volunteer a lot, on boats, on farms, at ashrams... I get around and pull my own weight. I've had a Couchsurfing profile for a while, but only functionally used once while traveling in Australia. I always seem to find accommodations through IRL (in real life) networks. I'm sure this site will be handy as I continue my travels and adventures.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I love traveling and meeting other travelers. I enjoy engaging with folks visiting NYC and the opportunity to stay with others in their hometowns across many places and times.
Intereses
Meeting new people, learning about other cultures. Digging into the counter-culture scene. Hugging (& planting and defending) trees. Movement: yoga, dance, contact improv, flow arts. Group bike rides, like critical mass. Direct actions, activism & culture-jamming. Cooking for friends and hosts. Potluck dinners. Sharing a meal, drinks & maybe a smoke with friends, old and new. Gardening and DIY culture. Deep conversations (spirituality, politics, culture).

Música, películas y libros
I love finding interesting zines & local independent papers.
My musical interests are all over the place, from punk to jazz and dub-step to country/western (I generally avoid pop/top 20).
I enjoy documentary and art house films, and the cult classics, like The Big Lebowski. I don't watch much TV or internet tv.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Lived collectively (16+ roommates) during winters and "home-free" during warm months in NYC for the past 3yrs.
1 more...
I co-founded a guerrilla garden (Smiling Hogshead Ranch) on vacant, public land in NYC that is now a legit (signed lease) community urban farm collective.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I manage events and education on an urban farm in NYC. I also regularly teach at Queens Library, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and guest lecture at various NYC Universities. I regularly offer skillshares or lectures in: radical mycology, composting, bioremediation, permaculture design, greenroof design & construction, basic garden construction, seed starting/sprouting, yogurt & kombucha making, seed bomb making/deploying, entomophagy, and more eco-topics. I'd love to share info about any of these. If I can pull the materials together, I'll even offer an impromptu skillshare at your home or favorite community space.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
I'm a good cook, but terrible baker, mostly veg but flexible. I know how to clean up after myself and respect others spaces. I'm handy with house and garden projects. I'm a story-teller, with lots of life experiences to share.
I will bring groceries and beer or wine (if I can find a bottle shop!)
I'm light hearted and love sharing the gift of laughter.
