ABOUT ME

While I am nice, it wouldn't be in the first few words you use to describe me -- funny, outgoing, friendly, someone you can count on. I recycle and rescue animals. I am simultaneously a rule follower and someone who thinks rules don't apply to me (I WILL turn left at a right turn only street if there are no cars and I jaywalk). I have been eating gluten free since before it was cool, as I am allergic to wheat, but I own a bakery and am a former owner of a pizza shop - go figure! I always look for the upside of any situation, no matter how shitty it is, and believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe people are basically good, I loathe evil and beets, and I while I only rarely give money to panhandlers, I have been known to buy them breakfast. I am in the process of reinventing myself for the next chapter. Simultaneously nervous and excited to see what that brings!

I recycle, rescue animals, & volunteer at the humane society. I am involved in our local schools as well.

兴趣

I love talking to people, sparkly things, baking, reading, playing games and floating on our local river. My daughter and I volunteer at the local Humane Society and I also love to rescue animals, and want to own a horse again someday. We are currently getting ready to retire for the second time and take off on a new adventure around North America and the world. I am captivated by the tiny house movement, love to collage and paint (although my supplies are a little underutilized at the moment). We own a small bakery and are in the process of selling it and do the next thing, which is slowly coming into focus.

Books: Anything by Paul Coehlo, Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. I love brain candy, romances, paranormal fiction and good storytelling. Dislikes: true crime, scary stories, horror

Music: Imagine Dragons are my current favorite band. I love the song "Happy."

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

14,000 feet elevation, on a train in the middle of the night in Bolivia. The stars were so prolific, they actually went from the ground, up all around you like a beehive playground structure, and back to the ground again. It was breathtaking!

Retired from corporate america, sold everything we owned in 30 days (including our 3600 sf suburban house) down to a backpack and rolling suitcase each, then lived in/traveled through 7 countries in Central/South America for 1 year with my husband our school-aged children.

Waking up to new snow in Bend, OR on a sunny day. The wind was blowing ice crystals through the air so it literally sparkled. It felt like we were living in a fairy land.

Machu Picchu - cliche, I know, but it does live up to its reputation of awesomeness.

Living in a casita in Montezuma, Costa Rica, and waking up every morning at dawn, laying in the hammock on our porch and watching the white-faced cappuchin monkey commute above our house.
