About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Suck the marrow straight out of life.
ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty easygoing and adventurous person, and, though I can be an introvert, I love meeting new people and finding new places to explore. Sometimes I write, sometimes I play piano or sing, sometimes I knit, sometimes (a lot of the time) I meander around, finding new details in old places. I love nonfiction books, laughing, red wine, coffee, bikes, cats, dancing around, going to concerts, and being generally active.
PHILOSOPHY
Give what you have when and to whom you can give it; in return, graciously accept what others have to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've mostly surfed, but I would love to host some surfers once I'm settled in my own place!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I've surfed a couple times with great results. I met some incredibly awesome people in Utah, a kind, funny guy in San Francisco, and was introduced to the Puget Sound by some amazing co-op folks.
Interests
I love music of any kind; I can't go a day without it. I'm also fond of being outdoors (unless it's freezing freaking cold), wandering about in general, looking at art, collecting leaves and flowers, drinking coffee, being a quiet witty type, and having pleasant conversations with strangers. Amateur painting and knitting are always fun, too.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies I could watch a million or so times: Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Fargo, Yellow Submarine, La Vie en Rose, Big Fish, Pirate Radio, Tous les Matins du Monde, Boondock Saints
Music: Regina Spektor, The Beatles, Tool, The Doors, Etta James, Bob Dylan, Ravi Shankar, Buddy Holly, Philip Glass, Vivaldi, Dvorak, Chopin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Van Morrison, Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith, etc.
Books: Leaves of Grass, Le Petit Prince, and lots of nonfiction about human development, psychology, and social issues.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rafted the Rio Grande in Taos, NM; climbed up the Spanish Peaks in Southern Colorado, traveled for 20 hours straight to San Francisco in a car full of wonderful strangers, held a moon jellyfish, and moved out to Washington without much in the way of savings.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can start people on basic knitting projects and I have lots of psychology facts/theory always going around in my head. I want to be a more hands-on, self-sufficient person, so if anyone can teach me how to fix/make things or how to garden, that would be more than awesome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking things. I will happily cook for you and your spouse/roommates, with some help of my more kitchen-savvy fiance.
