Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Gino, a 28-year-old from Argentina with an Italian passport. I've been backpacking through Europe for the past few months, looking to experience new cultures, improve my English, and meet locals along the way.
I'm traveling on a low budget, often hitchhiking, camping, or volunteering in hostels. I enjoy sharing stories, connecting with people, and making the most out of simple things.
I’ve volunteered in hostels across Spain, Germany, and the UK, and I've traveled solo through Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and northern Argentina. I'm used to adapting to different environments, respecting people’s space, and helping out whenever I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I believe travel is not just about the places you see but the people you meet. Couchsurfing gives me a chance to connect with locals, share experiences, and learn about the culture in a deeper way.
Since I mostly camp or hitchhike, having a roof over my head for a night and a good conversation is something I really appreciate.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music — mostly rock, heavy metal, some jazz and tango. I’m always open to discovering local sounds too.
When it comes to movies, I enjoy sci-fi and crime stories. Big fan of suspense and strange twists.
I like reading Stephen King and some classic or modern Argentine literature. I always carry a book in my backpack.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Brazil twice. The first time was through a university exchange program, but I also took the opportunity to travel solo at just 19 years old. I visited São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and even attended the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. It was a great experience to explore the country, learn about its culture, and meet new people.
The second time I went to Brazil was in 2023, when I traveled alone to Bombinhas, in the south of Brazil. I found a job as a bartender at a seaside bar and spent 5 months there, living through the summer. It was an unforgettable and beautiful experience, where I learned a lot about Brazilian life, the local culture, and even improved my Portuguese.
I also went backpacking with my father through northern Argentina, crossing into Bolivia. We explored places like the salt flats, Potosí, La Paz, and Lake Titicaca, and then continued to Peru, where we reached our final destination: Machu Picchu. It was an amazing journey full of new experiences and cultural immersion.
More recently, I traveled through France and Spain. I had the opportunity to live in San Sebastián, Spain, for a while, where I volunteered at a hostel. It was another great chance to learn from different cultures, meet travelers from around the world, and deepen my understanding of hospitality and social exchange.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to prepare Argentinian mate or a simple South American meal. I also know a bit about making cocktails from my time working as a bartender.
I'm looking to improve my English and love learning about local culture, food, and daily life.
Happy to share good talks, laughs, and help with anything around the house — I always try to give more than I take.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook some simple Argentinian dishes, make you a good coffee or cocktail—and of course, share some mate! I’m also happy to help with household tasks and keeping the space clean. I believe it’s important to contribute to the order and care of the place.
I really enjoy sharing travel stories, teaching some Spanish, or simply having a good conversation—whether it’s about common interests like sports, music, or learning about each other’s cultures. I also enjoy listening and learning from the places and people around me.
I’m very flexible and happy to adapt to whatever my host can offer—whether it’s schedules, sleeping arrangements, or the house rules. It’s no problem at all.
