About Me

Hey there. I am a 23 year old Singaporean student studying in the National University of Singapore. I will be heading to the United States of America on the 27th of December before leaving for Texas A and M to embark on an exchange programme.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that couch-surfing with any of you out there will let me experience the true nature of travel. I have been a rather shy individual almost all my life. I hope that by meeting locals, i can make new friends and see the various cities i will be travelling to from the eyes of a local. What beats being introduced to a new place than by someone who knows the area inside out??!!

Interests

I am a rather sporty person with interests in long distance running and mountain climbing. If you know any peaks to climb, I will be more than glad to summit that peak with you!! I am an engineer by heart and by the profession I have chosen to pursue in University so anything that has got to do with hands on experience, count me in!! As a Singaporean conscript to the Singapore Armed Forces, I have a keen interest in the Military. I enjoy tactical conversations and have a keen interest in military history.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have gotten really into Bob Marley lately after being enticed by the lyrics of amazing pieces such as Three Little Birds and Redemption Song. I favor several pop artists and bands such Fun and Coldplay. I particularly enjoy movies that are intellectually enticing such as the German "Book Thief" and "Catch me if you can". Movies about the military such as "Act of Valor" and " Lone Survivor" have a special place in my heart. I also enjoy Bollywood movies as well, such as the recent "3 Idiots" and "Rang De Basanti". I don't really read a lot but the few books I have read, I don't regret picking them up. Books by Jack Coughlin and Roald Dahl have really broadened my perspectives and expanded my creativity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have personally done for myself is realizing and accepting that i had serious health issues coming my way if I was not going to my overturn my sedentary lifestyle as well as my unhealthy eating habits. I was obese at the age of 17 and upon realization, I cultivated healthy eating and an active lifestyle daily and managed to lose about 20 kgs. I am very glad i did what i did as the sporting opportunities to enjoy are endless and being able to put health issues to rest was a challenge I was glad to take.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share with all of the hosts the amazing travel opportunities in Asia such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India and my very own hometown, Singapore.
