About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To spread peace, love and joy!

ABOUT ME

Let me introduce you to our family:
Darcie--middle school science teacher in a Catholic school
Greg--auto mechanic
Garret--Sophomore at College of William and Mary, connoisseur of fine, old music and phographs
Brandon--Senior in High School, nearly finished restoring a 1946 Willy's Jeep in our backyard!
Wilbur--adorable but MEAN Yorkshire Terrier
Winfriede--shaggy but very polite little miniature schnauzer

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that most people are generally good and we believe in spreading peace and goodwill by getting to know others throughout the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a guest bedroom that needs some guests! We live near Washington DC. It is a bit awkward to walk to the Metro, but you can call a cab for about $8. Or if we are available, we will drive you.

You must be able to tolerate two small dogs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted 4 times and made new friends each time! We are couchsurfed our way across Ireland last spring--trip of a lifetime!

Interests

Darcie--gardening, teaching, big heavy antique furniture
Greg--anything related to machines--cars, John Deere equipment
Garret--fine music
Brandon--Willy's Jeeps

Music, Movies, and Books

Radio: "Prairie Home Companion", "Car Talk", and "Wait, wait, don't tell me"

Books: Our Lady of Kibeho, Left to Tell, The Shack

Music: The 3 Irish Tenors, The 3 Priests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving everything behind in Nebraska and moving to Virginia to teach in a Catholic School and to obtain a better education for my children.

Driving a car with a manual transmission in Ireland was a major challenge!

Teach, Learn, Share

We live right beside a Catholic Church. If you have never been to a Catholic Mass, this could be your turn to try something new. Or if you are Catholic, here is your opportunity to go to Mass.
