Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the most of my irresponsible youth while I can still get away with it
ABOUT ME
Party all night, sleep all day only works when you don't have school-- so I just skip the sleeping part. Fun can be found anywhere.
PHILOSOPHY
When you're stressing out, ask yourself if it will directly impact your life 10 years from now. then either chill out and deal with it in stride, or buckle down and take care of business. it's not worth stressing over a problem that you won't remember next week.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to meet and enjoy as many people as possible through my travels; it's awesome to have a friend and guide in a new city, and I enjoy the times I have been able to be a friend to a traveler myself. I also really, really want to meet chill people in the Dallas area-- I could always use a study partner or drinking buddy.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
People have been using my couch as a crashpad for years, and CS gives me a great way to finally crash at someone else's for a change :) I love a full house, and have had nothing but great times with the surfers I've hosted and met through the site.
Interests
cooking and baking, music, reading, studying (at the last minute, but effectively), good times with good people, cartoons, linguistics, playing the mandolin, occasional laziness, philosophy, drawing ridiculous cartoons, quality beer, art history, and new pals

Music, Movies, and Books
top five musicians: ben folds/five, liam finn, joni mitchell, our lady peace, andrew bird. also a big electronica fan (dub, d&b, house, dance, even trance on occasion)
movies-- idiot comedies (stepbrothers, half baked), bad horror (event horizon, drag me to hell) and good horror (the shining, the ring), documentaries (anything louis theroux, man on wire) and their tv counterparts (intervention, true life), drug life films (traffic, trainspotting, spun) and thinkers (children of men, platoon, last king of scotland).
books-- all the french existentialists, esp. sartre and camus, and to balance out that pretentiousness i'll mention my stephen king addiction as well. some favorite authors: mary karr, sylvia plath, bradbury, francesca lia block, anne sexton, ruth reichl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to stay in a friend's beautiful, ages-old apartment in Venice once for a week when she was out of town with family, and when I looked out the window and waved to the gondolas passing by, all the tourists smiled as the gondolier laughed and shouted out to me in Italian. For a moment I forgot I wasn't, and I've never felt so at home anywhere.
Teach, Learn, Share
Keep a change of clothes on you wherever you go. You've got nothing to lose if you never need it, but on the day you spill, a strap breaks, or you visit a cathedral wearing shorts, you'll save yourself a crap day. Added benefit: less embarrassingly obvious walk-of-shames.
As for what I'd like to learn: what would you like to teach me?
