About Me

Hi, you can call me Julian or Jo, and I‘m 23 yo. I was born and raised in Trento, in northern Italy, but now i live in Genova, where I study Political Science.
During the summer i work as a lifeguard or as an au pair.
I really like to travel, whether it’s solo or with a nice company; i like learning about other cultures, expressions of art and music.
I like both visiting new cities and exploring more natural areas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like to travel and explore new places, and I think one of the best way to do so is by getting to know the people living there.
I believe so much in the power of connections and how having friendship around the world is so enriching.
Also, being a student I’m really focused on travelling budget-friendly. I don’t think travelling is a matter only for rich people ahah. It’s easy to travel in a cheaper way, you just have to be open to different ways and opportunity. This app proves it.

Interests

I am really on the creative side, so I like pretty much anything that involves art, culture and nature.
I am in love with literature and poetry.
Music has also a big role in my life. I play the guitar, but not as a professional.
I really enjoy sports such as running, swimming and yoga.
I feel a special connection with the sea so i would really like to learn how to surf in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m really fond of poetry in general.
Otherwise I enjoy reading both classics and contemporary books.
My favourite writer is Erri De Luca.
My favourites book (at the moment) are “The Old Man and The Sea” by Ernest Hemingway, “Oceano Mare” by Alessandro Baricco, “Las Malas” by Camila Sosa Villada and “Non ora, qui” by Erri De Luca.

I listen to a lot of music, but the genre that represent me the most is surely Blues.
My favourite guitarist is Jimi Hendrix.
I also listen to jazz, rock, soul, rap, hip hop, fusion and folk music.
Some musicians i’m loving lately are Bill Withers, Billie Holiday…

I really enjoy watching films, series and anime too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The “fly of the angel” in Basilicata was quite a peculiar experience. You get thrown from a mountain to the mountains in the front, linked by a very looong rope. That was fun and less scary than it seems, I would recommend it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m all for learning about new culture, different languages and cities.
I really like to share experiences with people and I’m really open.
I find so fascinating listening to people telling me about their passion, even if I know nothing about it. I feel like I am always growing and learning so much from interacting with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a clean and respectful person. I’m more than willing to help in the house, and be useful to the host in any way they need.
I can offer vegan home cooked meals, and would alway be up to get to know each other with long deep talks :)

Countries I’ve Visited
