Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to connect people from different worlds and lives. However, this isn’t possible if the sole purpose of your trip is just to find a free place to sleep.

I have great respect for those who try to travel on a budget, but I have to make a choice between what I consider an enriching experience and what I don’t. Sharing is the key to our meeting, and I believe this can only happen if you spend at least a full day in the city—getting to know the place, the people who live there, and bringing your own experiences to the exchange.

I’m sure you’ll understand and make the right choice when sending your request to stay.

I joined Couchsurfing many years ago, seeking to experience as much as possible. After 18 years, I'm still trying to bring new perspectives into my life—keeping Livorno bigger than it may seem.

Livorno is a peculiar city—completely untouristic, yet big enough to have its own identity and history, while still remaining on the margins of international interest. It’s definitely a place to discover, and I’d recommend it to anyone curious enough to see beyond appearances.
