About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Walk don't run!"

ABOUT ME

I am someone who can appreciate a generous host and pass on the kindness shown to me in my travels to others down the road. . .

PHILOSOPHY

Do not seek to follow the footsteps of the wise, seek what they sought. - Matsuo Basho

Be good.

Get along with your neighbors.

Money can be and most times usually is, a distraction to the things that are most important in life.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted many travellers in the past 8 years and couchsurfed just a few times on special occasions.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've enjoyed hosting couchsurfers and love the concept and community spirit of couchsurfing. We hope to set a good example as hosts so that the couchsurfers that we've hosted also want to be hosts when they make their way back home.

Interests

I love water in any form, snow, ice, waves, clouds, saltly, fresh, falling, flowing, raging, etc. etc. . .

Petting dangerous animals at the zoo.

Learning about inspiring people.

I love to surf big waves!

Music, Movies & Books

I listen to all music, but rarely can make out the lyrics... I love the all the different sounds and the harmony created when the artist(s) find 'it'. Banco de Gaia's live sets are amazing!
I love the cinematic experience so much, we have our own 3D screening room :)
The last book I read, I read because I had met the author while surfing my favourite wave in Mexico (In Search of Captain Zero is the name of the book)

One Amazing Thing I've Done

A few things that I've done that seem too crazy to be true...

I befriended a 300 pound wild crocodile.

I performed on stage with the founder of The Loveparade in front of a dancefloor of at least 60,000 people.

I saw a live grizzly bear's teeth and claws from less than 1 meter away (he was asleep).

I rode in a helicopter over 200 times last year.

I met Banksy at Damien Hirst's house just after I delivered an second encore performance at the request of Julian Schnabel.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach what you most need to learn.

Learn what you most need to share.

We will be very busy during the summer months and will probably not be able to host anybody until October. We especially won't be able to host you if you don't mention in your couchrequest, that you realize that we are not hosting anybody during the summer because we are too busy. It is important to me that couchsurfers that wish to be hosted by us, at least put in the effort to read through a profile before making a couchrequest. Unfortunate for some, we can no longer reward bad behavior on this site due to repeated copy and pasted couchrequests we have received by 'couchsurfers' who haven't even read our profile before making a request to be hosted by us in our home. It's gotten so bad, that we are now sending back copy and pasted reponses to the repeat offenders, many of which, who show their true colours and actually take offense to this. All of whom decline our offer to meet up anyway, even though we won't be able to host them (many don't even respond to the friendly offer). Maybe I am some sort of couchsurfing idealist, but I really don't think I am asking much of potential guests. I am hoping that our decision to enforce this new rule will make couchsurfing.com better in a small way. I can only hope ;) That said, we'd most likely love to host anybody that read this far if we can find the time. Even in the summer, when it is most difficult for us.
