About Me

I can easily be summed up in with three things: coffee, cooking, and cycling. I really appreciate a good cup of coffee, and I can make a pretty damn good one myself. Cycling is a big hobby of mine as well. I spend a lot of time at the Trinity Trails, a connecting series of walk ways along the river in my city of Fort Worth. Finally, I'm a hell of a chef (in my opinion). I cook everything from red meats to tofu, and my specialty is Mexican food. If you let me stay with you, there's a 100% chance I will cook a meal for the hosts.

As far as my education goes, I went to Texas Christian University for my undergrad. Majoring in economics, I consider myself a rational individual, assuming everything else is controlled for. Business was helpful too, as I am now using it to start a statistical consulting firm. Other than that though, I am working on pursuing a masters degree in some sort of data science field. Currently, I am looking at UTA's masters in Economic Data Analytics but that's 2 years in the making.

So yeah. That's me, in two paragraphs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason why I intend to go couch surfing is because I'm trying to figure out some good cities to move to in the future. More importantly, I really want to travel, meet new people, and experience a few days in the life of a Seattleton, Austinite, Denverite, and many more. I've got a lot of time on my hands currently, and I think this is the best way I could spend it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Generally, I like all songs. Save for country, I will be happy listening to anything. As far as movie go, some of my favorites are American Hustle, The (Original) Mummy, and Rick and Morty. I don't care if that's not a movie; Rick and Morty should be listed every single time.

Some of my favorite books are "A Portrait of Dorian Grey," "A Theory of Moral Sentiments" by Adam Smith, and "A Deepness in the Sky" as well as it's predecessor. Though I must admit, reading is something I certainly should do more of.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a college freshman in Denver, some friends and I visited an abandoned nuclear missile silo built during the cold war. Being completely run down and of antique design, everything was rusted over, coated in asbestos, and pitch black. We were stumbling around in the darkness with just face masks and one small flashlight. However, once we got to the main missile chamber, it was all worth it. Essentially, what we saw was a cylindrical room that, 80 feet down, was filled with a pool of water. Nearly twice, my friends and I fell down in the abyss before we decided the rusty rafters holding us wasn't worth the risk. We found our way back after only getting lost twice. However, this is by far the coolest thing I've done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm mostly doing this from a learner's perspective. I want to know what it's like in different peoples' cities, lives, and realm of experience. I want to learn.

As far as teaching (which is an act of sharing if you ask me) goes, I can teach you how to make one hell of a pork taco, the best damn vegan recipes you've ever had, and I can show you how to make the best cup of coffee you'll ever have the pleasure of imbibing.

Sharing. I want to share a beer with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beer, coffee, whole meals (guaranteed), good times, and conversation. This whole thing is a bit verbose towards the end.
