About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning and Teaching, understanding the best ways of doing both :)

ABOUT ME

A passion of mine lately is learning languages, spending a fair amount of my time in the last couple of years learning Mandarin. This ironically came out of a more general interest in teaching Maths and Science, where I ran a company part time teaching extra lessons in these subjects to high-school students. I now have my dream job (which I started in October 2010), where I am largely involved in training electronics engineers how to use Atmel Microcontrollers. This allows me to embrace my passion of teaching as well as pays me to travel around the world. When I wrote down the most possibly unrealistic dream job in 2007, this was it (almost exactly). :)

More recently, on arriving in Norway, I have thrown myself into learning Norwegian. Immercing myself in the language, just like I did with Chinese. My favourite norwegian author is Erland Lou.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe everything happens for a reason, but there are things we can learn from everything that happens. Normally life has a way of balancing out, if you are too excited or optomistic you are probably expecting more ups than downs to come along. If you are scared of change, you are probably thinking more downs than ups will come. Mostly the ups are balanced by downs, but everything is a chance to learn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Quite new to couch surfing, only hearing about it in October 2010. I must say I wish I had known about it
earlier. Often the things I am most interested in when traveling at the normal day to day routines and life of the new place.

This seems to offer the promise of being able to find that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

very new, but looking forward to meeting new people and having many converstations. I particularly like to talk about peoples experiences learning new languages, since everyone has something to add.
