About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Infiltrate the brewing industry to steal all their knowledge and implement it better in my own brewery within 3 years.
ABOUT ME
Us: three young people making it work in the big world. If you enjoy combining such disparate things as: liquor and learning; bonding and burritos; sofas and sophistication; reading and reddit; homebrew and harmony; french toast and fitness; drinks and discussion;
-- well then you're pretty much welcome.
TL;DR
- 23, 23, and 22, one UCSD graduate, one SDSU grad student and one art school student with majors in physics, nutritional science, and interior design. All employed, responsible youths.
-Location: Bay Park Terrace; 20 min walk from Mission Bay (literally across I-5); 15 min drive to UCSD, downtown or Mira Mesa; High Dive Bar literally across the street (no late night noise after 12); breweries/bars nearby: Coronado, Modern Times, High Dive, etc;
-Complex: Awesome rooftop patio for night-time shenanigans; great view of sea world fireworks displays every summer night; on-site laundry (coins); communal pool;
-Straight but gay-friendly with no preference on surfer gender.
-party-friendly but the apartment is pretty small and we have neighbors who may complain.
-I can fix your computer, get you fit, help you with math, make you beer, or even cook you healthful food.
-Jen can paint you some sweet art, photoshop whatever you need, or design your dream home (some assembly required).
-Jan can tell you all about the workings of the proteins in your body and food, school you in the gym, and regale you with tales of fraternal debauchery.
-No pets, sorry, Jen's allergic to cats and dogs.
-Ideal surfer is someone we could play board/video games, cook, read, entertain, hike, workout, make music, or just talk with -- the more, the better.
About me: I'm a 23-year old tutor, beer-maker, fitness and travel enthusiast. I moved from the east Bay Area to attend UCSD and stayed in the area after graduation. I majored in physics and a minor in history. I can explain the theory behind just about any technology and confound you with historical references thrown into conversation. I tutor high school and university level math and physics while I continue to improve my brewing, to one day open my own brewery.
The place comes with my friend Jen as well. She attends the Art Institute of San Diego and majors in interior design. Originally from LA, she moved down to SD for school. She currently designs the sales material at Cole's flooring and makes art on the side for fun and for some extra scratch. She's sarcastic, witty, and idealistic - though not above changing those ideals when convinced. Great hugger.
The third roommate Jan is from Chicago originally and came to Cali for the sun and school. He's doing his master's in Nutritional Science at SDSU and is an all-around badass. He's also a sarcastic jokester and his hugs can hurt, but a great guy over all.
We could (and likely will) say plenty more, but if you've actually made it this far send me a message and we'll go from there!
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone should do what they love and make it work. Be open to new ideas and boldly go where others fear to tread.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting surfers to build my reputation so that I'll have an easier time once I begin my own travels again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I've never couchsurfed yet, I did spend a month traveling central Europe in hostels last year. My favorite experience was watching Real Madrid beat Man U in a bar in Sofia, Bulgaria while speaking Spanish with a Japanese fellow! Extreme surrealism right there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to travel around central Europe for a month and a half in 2012 sampling european lager beers! Good, but I prefer ales still.
Teach, Learn, Share
I brew my own beer. I can teach you if you'd like. I majored in physics so I can explain the theory behind just about any technology if you're interested. I really enjoy languages and am trying to learn a toast in as many different ones as I can (živeli, prost, egészségedre, לחיים, Наздраве, na zdravi, 乾杯, na zdrowie, На здоровье, salud)! I love cooking as well so if you can drop some bomb ethnic food knowledge you're in!
