About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the global playground rediscovering child-like wonder, awe and joy with others.

ABOUT ME

One day I woke up, and decided to set off on a journey to explore the global playground. That's when I sold everything I owned, except just what I needed to live. Then in December of 2010, I put a few things I thought I needed into a backpack, left Austin, Texas and headed south.

I have now spent over five years slow traveling throughout the world. Along my journey I have had the honor of getting to know so many incredibly beautiful people to whom I am truly grateful for having given me book full of amazing experiences.

In July of 2015, I left from Canada to go to Iceland from where I have been traveling my way south toward South Africa while trying to see as many countries in between as possible. Then on to the Middle East and Asia.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the more I give the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake.

Make love with the fear.

Be a gardener of lives by nourishing their hearts and souls to blossom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How I participate?

I show up and give all that I have to share.

Sometimes that means helping little old ladies dance across the street. If people ask me to join their journey, I willing offer a hand and shoulder. Sometimes it's just as simple as giving a "free hug" or making eye contact with a stranger and smiling.

It seems that the essence of CS is to help build an intentional community based on giving and receiving where we can come to trust one another to share the best of ourselves.

For me it's also an opportunity to connect beyond social-cultural and geopolitical boundaries by what makes us human, and more importantly spiritual beings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been "couchsurfing" for a long time now. Friends, roommate's friends, friends of friends, even the occasional homeless person has spent the night (or a month) on my couch. I have also occasionally spent the night (or a few) on the couches of many loving people well before CS.

So while I've had plenty of "couchsurfing" experiences in my life, I am looking forward to my couch surfing experiences by connecting with others through this website.

I enjoy meaningful conversations. Sharing what I love with them like good cooking. I love to be playful and discover where I can find humor and laughter between us.
