Chi sono
CURRENT MISSION
Crossing Central and South America, meeting cultures, people... and myself
ABOUT ME
Well, in short, spent my first 40 years or so working. At school, at college and university, then for an employer as consultant, etc.
Then came the time (not too late hopefully) of the big questioning: what am I doing on this earth? (you know the kind of "mid-life crisis" gray area) -- Answer came rather rapidly with a big sign saying "Wrong Way".
Then come the opportunity (the kind of "one time opportunity you can't miss") : namely, back-packing through Central+Latin America. I named it my personal quest. Still don't know to which extent I will make it, but at least, getting the opportunity to meet, discuss, exchange with people, cultures, learn about it all.
This is as of today. I guess I'll update this profile as I'm on the road. The trip is starting today (June 2010) though I registered already back in 2008 (my very begining in questioning... and considering a trip as I am doing today)
Update September: I am right in it (the trip :-) and it is just by and large a fantastic experience both cultural and personal, spiritual.
PHILOSOPHY
so to say...
As of my current state of thinking, I would say that most likely, the definition "live here and now" would make it quite well.
Update September: until this trip, this was barely words I could understand without, maybe, fully understanding the depth of its meaning. I had a couple of experiences during this trip which, definitly, made me understand beyonds the words, what it really means.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be able to host on my return back home (done it before "outside CS", for friends of friends of friends... you know what I mean). This current CS experience will help me a lot I guess. For the rest, I have been travelling reasonably a lot "outside CS", and I love to share and exchange about these experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well not much CS experience today. Mainly met people for 'Coffee or Drink'. Surfed once, and hope to have many more other such positive experiences during my trip.
Otherwise I've always been I believe open-minded. Hosted friends of friends, and been myself also hosted by "friends of friends". Always met very nice people with rich exchange of experience on trips, on life, on anything
Interessi
Ummm... I am interested in a very large array of topics. To make it short, I love to learn and exchange on anything as long as... it is interesting. I guess I could even talk with a straw-man and echange on the whys and reasons of its own existance :-)
At the current moment and for my trip, I want to learn about the people, the culture, the goodies and the less godies of each country I am visiting...
- culture
- coffee
- drinking
- traveling
Musica, film e libri
Books: the ones I read recently: "Tuesdays with Morry" (actuallty its french edition "La dernière leçon") from Mitch Albom - a true story ; "Eat, Pray Love" from Liz Gilbert (which should come out as a movie, but I definitly recommend it as book before the movie)
Movies: ummm, a lot. on a large array too. But "Avatar", beyond just the pure technical aspect and challenge of the movie and its script, interested me and stroke me for its underlying message about life (to be discussed with a good beer or a good glass of wine :-) )
Music: a big "ummmm" as well... From classic music (ranging Bach to more contemporary Stravinsky, Boullet, and others) to some "classic" hard-rock such as Deep-Purple or AC-DC and going through great "classic" Jazz tunes, R&B and Rock (Have I covered it all?) -> Yes, I like music and I regret I can't play any instrument (paradoxal truth of my life...)
