ABOUT ME

I'M ... I'm me.

I was born in England, and lived their till I was 5 at which time I moved to Canada. We lived in Toronto for a couple months before we moved to Mississauga, which is where I think of my childhood happening. I spent over 15 years in my childhood home there. The only travel I had as a child was with my mother and brother, as we went to visit family in the UK for 2 weeks, and since then I've been pretty stationary not having the time or opportunity to travel as much as I would like between school and work.

After high school, I attended and graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in General Arts and Science, and am now I have just completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Waterloo

As far as everything else goes, I'm a bit of an obsessive compulsive. With a lot of things. Like the volume in my car has to be turned up to multiples of five, and I have to finish a sentence I've started or else it drives me nuts. Always washing my hands, and I can't bring myself to comfortably touch public door handles, I either have to use paper towel or part of my shirt lol!

I have a few good friends in my life who make me smile and who I love, and a handful of others who I care about deeply.

Aside from my immediate family (including the new addition of my baby nephew) I haven't seen most of my family in many years, they're all back in England.

I want to travel around. I didn't know how much I did until I started looking at what's around me that I have never seen before. And not just travel abroad (which I really want to do) but within Canada also, within Ontario even. There are so many things and people with a history of their own that I want to share in the experience with.

PHILOSOPHY

I am the sum of my experiences. To reject anything in my past would be to deny part of who I have become today.

For that reason, I make it a conscious effort to embrace my past, all of the good, as well as the bad.

Interests

Cooking - The best that I have ever eaten was when I moved away from my parents and was able to cook every meal of the day. It was also the healthiest I'd ever eaten, learning about what foods were good, and what foods were good for you.
Cats - I have a black domestic short hair who I love
Music - playing music is a hobby I need to reintroduce myself into. I played saxophone for years, learned clarinet at an intermediate level, and would like to learn how to play guitar beyond smoke on the water.
Cartoons - Hey, who said you had to be a kid to watch cartoons, i LOVE cartoons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked in 2 separate environments doing research with Older Adults (65+) to learn how thinking changes with age and to try and create more useful ways to teach new skills. Within that i helped teach individuals how to use computers with limited prior experience to learn tasks that they wanted to know.

I once drank 2 pots of coffee in 1-2 hours out of boredom at work... works out to about 8 large cups :\

As my travels begin, I am hoping to be able to write about what I have experienced and seen, knowing that it will be amazing.
