About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to learn about others, in order to learn about myself.

ABOUT ME

Hello I am Simone
Expat in Madrid. Yoga lover. Avid biker. And prone to making cooing noises at passing dogs. I am learning to speak French. In 2010 I spent three months in France wwoofing, best three months I ever took off of school. I have many friends and enjoy being with them, as much as my family. I think that traveling is the best thing that a person can do. It introduces new ideas and we all need a little perspective in our lives.

PHILOSOPHY

My life philosophy comes from an ancient chinese fable: A farmer owns a beautiful piece of land and one day a strong, healthy horse runs onto his land and stays there. All of the people in the farmers village said "wow you are so lucky to have received such a strong, healthy horse." The farmer said "maybe I am lucky, maybe I am not lucky." Then one day the farmers son was out riding the horse and fell and broke his leg. All of the people in the farmers village said "wow you are so unlucky because your son broke his leg and cannot work." The farmer said "maybe I am lucky, maybe I am not lucky." Later that week the army draft came to the farmer's village to find people to fight in the war. When they saw that the farmer's son had a broken leg, they let him stay. All of the people in the farmers village said "wow you are so lucky to have your son stay home." The farmer said "maybe I am lucky, maybe I am not lucky."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurf, and host others in my city as best I can, giving others advice and showing them around my beautiful city (Denver). I also went to several meetings when I was abroad and hope become more involved in the couchsurfing community of Denver.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did couchsurfing in Europe a little bit, and I loved it. It seems like the perfect way to travel. So I hope that in the future I can go to more meetings and once I get a place of my own that I can welcome couchsurfers. It's a great way to keep the journey going even when you're at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like older music generally classics meaning pink floyd, leonard cohen, and Neil Young, jaz classics like ella fitzgerald and billie holiday, blues music like jimi hendrix and led zeppelin, plus older blues too , you know, the people they copied from (no hate). I like classical music when I'm driving or smoking with my best friend. I also like Micheal Jackson and some other 80s music, I like bluegrass and country like the stanley brothers and johnny Cash, and raggae like bob, and the toots and maytals...

Lord of the Rings are my favorite books, and right now im reading Robinson Crusoe, but I mostly like non-fiction
