Overview
About Me
Hey! I’m Gokul from India 🇮🇳
I’m an Ayurveda medical student and work on climate, biodiversity, and youth projects around the world. Travel is a big part of my life — I often move between countries for conferences, research, and filmmaking.
I’ve travelled to 43 countries for various UN and NGO–related events, conferences, and field projects focused on climate, health, biodiversity, and peace.

I’m a UN Ground Pass Holder (2026) and often travel for global meetings, research, and documentary filmmaking.
I’m easygoing, respectful, non-smoker, and comfortable with simple living. I enjoy good conversations, local food, nature walks, films, and learning how people live in different cultures.
I believe Couchsurfing is about trust, kindness, and sharing stories. Happy to exchange experiences, help out, or just chill and talk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing mainly to meet new friends and connect with interesting people from different cultures. I love meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and learning how people really live beyond tourist experiences.
It also helps me travel more sustainably and save some money, which allows me to travel longer and deeper. Sometimes, I enjoy exploring places together if our plans align.
As someone working with the UN and NGOs, these personal connections help me understand local realities better and contribute to my research and policy work in a more grounded way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a mix of movies rather than sticking to one genre. I love Jurassic Park, KGF, and animated cartoons. I’m especially into documentaries and visual storytelling, which probably explains why I enjoy films more than books.
I’m not a big reader — more of a picture-and-movie person — but I like content that teaches something or shows real stories from the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most meaningful things I’ve done is creating the Govardhan App, a global biodiversity and traditional knowledge platform that connects nature, health, and indigenous wisdom. It’s my way of using technology to protect biodiversity and cultural heritage.

I’ve also travelled to Ukraine during the war to document how conflict affects climate, environment, and human health, believing that these stories need to be told from the ground. Along the way, I’ve participated in multiple UNFCCC COPs, advocating for stronger links between climate action and health.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share stories from my travels across 40+ countries, experiences from UN and grassroots work, and insights on climate, health, biodiversity, and traditional medicine.
I’m always keen to learn about local culture, food, language, history, and how people see the world. Happy to exchange ideas, cook together, or simply share good conversations.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories from my travels across 40+ countries, experiences from working with UN and NGO projects, and insights on climate, health, biodiversity, and Ayurveda.
I’m happy to help around the house, cook simple Indian food, share documentaries or films, go for walks, or just have meaningful conversations. Most of all, I bring respect, curiosity, and good energy.
