ABOUT ME
rain is really a rare thing in Tijuana/San Diego area, so my absolute favorite time to take a hike is the day after a good dousing, when the naturally blah ground all around bursts with dainty tufts of color. misty haze. hills. snake holes freshly slithered through. lots of mud is involved these moments, so good shoes, and as soon as the sun has been out to play for a day and a half or so all is back to brown blah. but those moments...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One afternoon, the little boy I worked with was ecstatic to see a group of children flying a giant kite. His fingers moved a little more clumsily than the rest, so he and I set up a second kite. The whole process of flying was taking a bit too long, so he gripped the string a couple feet from the kite and ran... giggles, chuckles, chortles, shrieks... he was flying in those flipping floating flopsing colorful tails.
