Hi there, I am Gonzalo Cortes, a Peruvian depth freediver, with 8 national records. Representing my country, I have managed to submerge myself, reaching a depth of 70 meters without breathing, that's right, holding my breath and without the help of any breathing apparatus.

I have been practicing this sport professionally for more than four years, during this time I have represented the country in more than 10 international competitions.
And I find myself writing this because I am preparing to compete in the World Depth Championship of both Freediving organizations;

AIDA World Depth Championship (Corsica, France – Sep 2024)
CMAS World Depth Championship (Kalamata, Greece – Oct 2024)

and for this I need your help.

And although the austere life I lead makes me very happy, it is not enough to financially support the costs required to participate in a World Championship.

That is why I am here asking for a space to stay during the competitions, because accomodations are super expensive for me.

I started here because I wanted to continue to know cultures through the people by staying and living with them, There is nothing better to know a place than doing it with the local people!
Now, I don't want to loose that touch and would like to ad this particular goal of mine to take part of a Worl Championship.

Interessen

My career as a freediver is not limited to training and competition, but in fact I dedicate myself full time to teaching this sport, becoming the only Peruvian level 3 instructor and also the only one with the degree of “Instructor Trainer” (Instructor of Instructors).

I also like doing all sort of sports and hit the gym after that purpose.
But also like to sit down have a beer or coffee relax and enjoy good conversation.
Travelling and trekking, knowing new places.
I had also practiced Muay Thai for 5 years
I'm an underwater photographer as well!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Travel all around my country (Peru) and experienced different adventures with it, like rafting, bridgejumping, bungeejumping, sandboard, joiner driving (SandCar), many other things and of course treking and hiking, I've walk for 4 days to reach Choquequirao in Cusco.
