About Me

I work with IT/finance and used to be a musician. I play from time to time. I live with two wonderful dogs in Barcelona.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a big apartment all by myself. However, I do enjoy the company of friends and nice people. Renting has that money component that can ruin it all (or not) and some people when they pay they demand things. So I'd rather have interesting people I like at home. Also, when I go to work I like the fact that people can stay with my dogs or even go out with them. I like engaging in conversations, playing music, sharing meals together and going around the city. Respect, awareness that you are in somebody's house, good manners and a real interest in people is what works for me and what I'm looking for.
What I don't like is that, being a host, guests hardly ever mention that one reason for being a couchsurfer is lack of funds. The argument of "sharing" can end up being just an euphemism for free lodging. The fact that Couchsurfing has no money involved does not mean there should not be some kind of gratitude for being treated like family when you are a total stranger and saving so much money (in a city as expensive as Barcelona). If you don't have this in you, then you probably are a freerider and you should look elsewhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into jazz, blues and brazilian music. Mostly jazz. I haven't read in a while... but trust me, I was a nerd.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Playing guitar on a cruise ship!

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught guitar for 10 years. I love that. I would love to learn German since I'm German (just in paper...) and my German level is awful. I'm willing to learn many other things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My house and good moments when we are together. Most likely, nice meals or walks. The Apartment is fantastic and comfortable.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain
