ABOUT ME
I've just got back from travelling and in June '09 completed my studies in Philosophy & Politics at Manchester. I like going out and enjoying myself (often excessive but never vulgar) but I also love esoteric debate and all sorts of academic guff. I reckon that if you can enjoy yourself mentally and physically, you've got a decent balance struck.
PHILOSOPHY
Take the rough with the smooth. Life is beautiful, but one has to suffer a little to appreciate its true beauty. A good sense of humour is essential, and a quality I seek in others.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't say I actively dislike any type of music... if something takes my ear, I'll listen to it. I really like Radiohead and British Sea Power, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for me. I like classical, rock, electronic blips and beeps, minimal techno, loads of stuff.
Books... I love Albert Camus and John Steinbeck, beautiful novelists. When I write, I mostly end up poorly imitating them. Ace.
Movies I love. Godfather, Apocalypse Now, foreign stuff. It's all good.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In no particular order...
- Husky riding at Lake Baikal
- Attending Live8 and seeing Pink Floyd and The Who (I'm not a megafan, but I appreciate the significance of seeing them perform at my age!)
- Shaking Morrissey's hand
- Sharing stories with a guy who works for the Russian Mafia
- Travelling the Trans-Siberian
- Touring the Mongolian countryside... staying in a Ger and eating horse meat straight from the bone; admiring the beauty of the wilderness under moonlight, beneath the most incredible night sky I've ever seen; sharing compliments with nomads
Yep, just realised that there's slightly more than one thing there...
Teach, Learn, Share
My degree makes me a generalist, and I chose it because by nature that is what I am. I'm a master of no trade in particular, but I'm a good writer and I can put up a good show in a debate or discussion revolving around philosophy, politics, life and religion. It's more probable I'll be learning and listening, rather than teaching, however.
