About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The best feeling of Happiness is when you're happy because you've made somebody else happy!!!
BUILDING AN INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF FRIENDS
ABOUT ME
I'm a very friendly brazilian guy living in Barcelona, Spain for the past 3 years. I work in the IT field, mostly from home, with people from all over the world, but the curious thing is that I've graduated in International Relations. Never got the chance to work with it, but loved the studies.
I've been moving a lot in the past, enjoyed every experience abroad, now trying to establish myself in this sunny city. While that happens, I try to escape from my routine and my comfort zone every month, somewhere. Travel to me became an addition, or rather, a life style. As I have quite a flexible job with lots of holidays, I'm always moving, doing short trips more often than long ones, and leaving those long ones to explore places I know less about (going to China in October, for instance). I used Couchsurfing a lot when I was in Erasmus as a volunteer in Romania for a year and less after that, it was the best thing it happened to me. My plan now is to go back to using this tool and do more trips to connect with locals and other travelers since in the past years I've been traveling mostly with friends who don't have the same Couchsurfing mindset.
As of my personality, I'm always smiling and trying to make people laugh. I'm a people's person. I'm active, I'm always moving, and prefer being outside than inside. I love doing sports: been doing crossfit for quite a while now, I also play football every week, and lately I've been learning beach volley, taking advantage of the weather in Barcelona. I enjoy nature, while traveling, I also enjoy doing hikes in the nature, looking at the sky and its beauty (clouds, sun, moon, stars), and stopping for a minute. Lately I prefer trips that I connect with nature rather with cities, those are the ones that became the most memorable for me. As of other hobbies, I love learning new languages, I can speak for of them and I enjoy learning the basic language words of the countries I visit. Additionally, I love music and dancing, it's also something that makes me disconnect from the anxiety of the routine. Every now and then, I enjoy going to see a specific DJ (house and techno) at a club or a festival locally or abroad, I love when I can combine music with travel. Lastly, I go back home to Brazil once a year, something I feel really privileged about because it's a way for me not to forget my roots: my culture, family and old friends.
PHILOSOPHY
Make happy those who are near, and those who are far will come.
More important than the trip itself is what it remains in the traveler spirit after doing it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I always try to couchsurfing wherever I go and I'm open to receive people wherever I'm living in. I think couchsurfing is about learning and sharing, it's about getting out of one's comfort zone, and traveling without going anywhere (when hosting). The most amazing thing about this experience is trusting in humanity.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been hosting and surfing, I also like participating in CS events wherever city I'm at. I've met such amazing people through using this tool.

I personally love horror movies, documentaries, historical movies, international relations movies.
I'm pretty eclectic regarding music, but I mainly like electronic music (house and techno) and pop.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling and living as being part of another nation is AWESOME!!
Working on board of a ship for 9 months, without days off and being everyday in a different place is the craziest thing i ever done.
Spending the whole night in the turkish/greek border after not having the entry stamp was also crazy (and bad).
Watching an italian volcano to erupt (even from far) was also nice onboard of a ship.
Hitchhiking with 3 friends many kilometers with a single turkish driver from romania to turkey (1 day and a half trip, 5 people in one truck)
Living with other 11 volunteers in the same house in Romania.
Hitchhiking from Romania to Finland (passing through Russia) for 25 days.
Hiking at dawn to watch the sunrise from Mount Batur in Bali
Swiming with turtles very near the beach in Gili Islands, Indonesia
Teach, Learn, Share
I think i still have a lot to learn, but i've been out of my country for almost 15 years and just turned 32. One thing is certain, the more I travel the more I learn.
I can teach you languages, especially portuguese and spanish and recommended you places where I've lived/been.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you languages, especially portuguese and spanish and recommended you places where I've lived/been.
The idea about CS is not getting a free accomodation but rather sharing moments. I believe it's important to share at least a meal with the host/surfer to exchange ideas and culture.
I'm always curious about the cultural aspects of where I go, especially the ones I have a cliché with. I enjoy breaking taboos of where I'm coming from and where I'm staying.
