About Me
* please read my entire profile before you send a request... preference for people with references... thanks! *
hi all, I'm a musician from New York City- i love meeting new people around the world, especially people who are intellectual/artist/smart/thinking people, especially people who are politically aware and active (progressive and racial/economic-justice-minded here!). I'm gay and in a long-term relationship (though I live alone), and I like meeting other gay guys, queer people of all genders, and of course straight people too. I love conversation, learning new things about the world and people's lives. I'm friendly and open, also respectful, neat, quiet, polite, and fun (when needed!), so hopefully you'll be interested to have me in your home.
As a host, opening up my home to strangers has often been really rewarding -- I very much appreciate making new friends and acquaintances from around the world. I work at home a lot so my ideal couchsurfer is out much of the day exploring the city...though I really do enjoy hanging out, and if you give me enough advance notice, I can make sure I have time to hang out and show you around a bit. Also- I don't smoke and I don't drink much, and I have cats. And I'm vegan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I traveled quite a bit around Europe in 2016 and had a really positive experience with couchsurfing, then started hosting more at home in New York -- I've met some really wonderful people who I keep in touch with to this day. I hope to keep traveling and have more adventures, make new friends around the globe. When possible, I'm glad to host travelers in NYC, or at least to share info about the city.

What I Can Share with Hosts
comfy sofabed, wifi, conversation, info/recommendations on where to go in the city. i live in a mellow neighborhood that's just off the beaten path, so it's quiet. it's pretty centrally located, just a long walk from the subway.
i don't stay up super late, and usually get up fairly early, so if you're coming to NYC to party late at night, i'm not the right host for you.
