About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try all anchorages in the Bay Area

ABOUT ME

I graduated with a masters in Language Technologies (building machines that listen and talk) 3 years ago. I then moved to Seattle to work for Amazon.com as a Software Engineer, and met a bunch of amazing CSers over there. I just recently moved to the Bay Area and hope to explore a new part of this country.

Mexico was my first destination when I was 18. Since then, I've traveled to central/south america, Caribbeans, Europe, Japan and Thailand. I'm easy going and I love to learn new things.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a minimalist person, trying to keep clutter away. All I own is what's on my sailboat. Also an ecologist, I minimize waste, try to reuse the most I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mix of surfing and hosting and hanging out with the local CSers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed for the first time in 2008 during a trip in France. Since then, I've had amazing time with other couchsurfers, hanging out in Montreal, Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Interests

Outdoor activities: sailing, scuba diving, sky diving, paragliding.

Music: guitar and accordion

Science & Technology: mostly computer science and physics but anything science related really.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pretty much every kind of music. What I listen to mostly depends on the mood I'm in.

Books: Brave New World, 1984, Alas Babylon, Fahrenheit 451 and the likes. Also pretty much any science book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving with mantas in Ecuador and a whale shark in Thailand comes up first. Skydiving and paragliding. Taking my sailboat from Seattle to SF. Although I'd say surviving grad school is pretty amazing too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some sailing tips, and teach scuba diving (assuming I'd find a PADI school around). I can also teach French although purists would complain that my French isn't the real one.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Thailand, United States
