About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"If things start happening, dont worry, dont stew, just go right along and you`ll start happening too!" (Dr Seuss)

ABOUT ME

I love to chat with new people and share stories and a laugh. I'm pretty easy-going and enjoy being active, out-doors and creative. I really enjoy having people over for dinner (and trying new recipes out on them - bit of an exploratory cook) and playing board games, cards or just having a chat over a glass of wine. I like finding second-hand and vintage clothes and sewing them into something new. I love to try relaxed, dorky adventures - cycling and picnics, trying out odd sports in costume or just wandering/driving and stopping where-ever looks interesting!

I'm currently volunteering in two homes for Adults with disabilities. The work is amazing and I'm completely passionate about this area of work, because I get to help people re-learn basic life skills - like eating and dressing by themselves! Love it

PHILOSOPHY

Dont leave room for regrets!!!

I feel like a bit of a nerd, but I'm passionate about working with people with disabilities to help them experience a better, fuller (and fun-er!) life.

Another Dr Seuss quote works well here;
"A person`s a person, no matter how small"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I read a book about a CouchSurfer once and it sounded brilliant! I then went on holiday for four months to try this couchsurfing caper out - and loved it. I love meeting new friends and learning about them and their way of life.

Interests

I love listening to and making music, going out with friends and baking delicious food! I've been having a great time learning the ukulele (and trying to make jazz and blues 'work' on it!). I really enjoy getting outside and bush-walking, as well as cycling and exploring new places and am game to try almost anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to listen to blues, jazz and soul music, with a bit of big band and aussie hiphop thrown in every now and then just to mix things up! Bands I'm into at the moment are: Regina Spektor, Ella Fitzgerald, The Hilltop Hoods, Monsieur Camembert, Nina Simone, Nora Jones, The Herd, The Black Keys & Ben Folds.

I mostly seem to read classic books (there's got to be some reason they've stayed in print!). And my favourite tv shows are; Black Books, The IT Crowd, Game of Thrones, The Office & Arrested Development.
