Overview
About Me
My name is Grace! I am currently working on a PhD. in Developmental Psychology at one of the local universities. I have done a lot of traveling in Europe and that is how I became familiar with this site. I love to travel. I really enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences. I have a miniature Australian Shepard puppy who is very sweet and also loves meeting new people. I am looking forward to sharing my home city with people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I studied abroad in Wales for a semester and lived in Stockholm, Sweden working as an au pair. When I finished those adventures, I decided to stick my roots back where I grew up to get my graduate degree. However, I still have a strong wanderlust, despite my lack or time or funds for travel. Opening my home to other travelers seemed like a great platform for sharing my home city and meeting fun people from around the world!
Interests
Raleigh is a great city for trying craft beers! We have over 10 breweries in the area! Trying new beers is one of my favorite hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to pretty much anything but country music. I like children's movies the best. My favorite is How to Train your Dragon. I also love musicals. My favorite book series is Harry Potter. I like to read fantasy novels. However, at the moment most of my reading is for school.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once climb to the top of a mountain near Barcelona, Spain called Montserrat. From the top of the mountain you could see for hundreds of miles, including parts of France. It was the most amazing view I've ever seen in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really enjoy sharing Raleigh with people. I have lived here for a long time so I have much knowledge of things to do! I love hearing about other people's experiences and cultures. I am also always willing to having a lively discussion about psychology which I know a lot about as well as learn more about other people's expertise. I pride myself on knowing a little bit about a lot of things and one of the best ways to do that is by listening to other people's life experiences.
