I am a chef based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I grew up in a small fishing town called, Gimli, Manitoba. All my life i've had a keen interest in the creative arts. I've always been a music enthusiast and love to discover more and more. I am very easy-going and have a rlaxed demeanor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that travelling should be an opportunity to experience local culture in the most authentic way I can. Hotels aren't interesting. Meeting locals and experiencing the day-to-day life and conversing is what intrigues me most when visiting new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music styles are Hip Hop, House, Techno, Jazz, Funk and Soul. Basically anything with a good groove.

As for books, I usually read non-fiction. Some favourites are: Many Beautiful Things (Schiavelli), Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well (Artusi), Kitchen Confidential (Bourdain), The Food of Italy (Root). So Obviously lots of cookbooks, food philosophy, food-culture. I also love music books and magazines, and am starting to read literature whenever my friends recommend something that they think i'll enjoy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent one more on the Philippines exploring the Luzon and Visayas regions. This trip was my first time out of America and it unlocked my love of travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to help out wherever i can. As a chef i'm happy to Cook whenever and wherever possible. I'm also happy to go on outings and help with shopping or anything else. I'm good with my hands and quite industrious so just let me know what you need! :)
