I'm Couchsurfing because I think it is a really great way to really get to know new places and get to know the people that live in them. When I travel I don't just want to be a tourist, I want to understand the people and the culture of the places I visit, build relationships, and make memories. Travel to me is equal parts exploring the world around you and exploring yourself. I think couch surfing is a great way to do all of that!

I love indie, folk, alternative, rock, and some hip hop music, though I listen to just about anything. Favorite bands include LCD Soundsystem, Fleet Foxes, and The Tallest Man on Earth.

I read lots of political/social/historical non-fiction, which is really exciting to read and talk about if you like that stuff.

One amazing thing I've done is a four day backpacking trip of the Inca Trail in Peru that ended at Machu Picchu. Definitely one of the coolest thing I've ever done.
