About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see enough of the world to discover the real way I want to live.

ABOUT ME

I'm a vocal, funny, scruffy Californian hippy dude. I love food and playing games. I live on my bicycle, read voraciously, and collect awful jokes.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm working it out as I go, but I believe love is the most powerful force in human existence, that we each decide for ourselves the world we wish to live in, and that I'm never going to get anything perfectly right if I live to be a thousand. Which I'm planning on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to host in the future, once I don't live in a crazy house. At present I'm looking to travel and meet people so I can extend hospitality afterwards.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Solely peripheral - my old housemate hosted a few folks. Couchsurfers are always interesting, friendly, and worth getting to know.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big movie guy. I like classic and alternative rock, motown-style R&B, most forms of hip-hop, and a smattering of indie rock. I've read all the science fiction from Asimov to Gibson, I sincerely admire Malcolm Gladwell's popular science writing, and when I grow up I want to be George Orwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing comes to mind, which is why I've decided to chuck my nice job and comfortable living situation for a Grand and Ill-Advised Adventure Abroad.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can lecture ad nauseum on the wonders of molecular biology. I throw a mean frisbee. I'm a damn good bicyclist and a decent bike mechanic. Most of the things I cook are edible, and some of them are quite good.
