About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world with the eyes of a child and smile of a clown

ABOUT ME

Hello World! Well I just got here in Saguenay area and I do admit for scenery, culture, good food and beer, it is pretty much up there. I'm looking forward at exploring this vast region with other newbies or travelers, or getting acquainted with the locals and share good stories and hidden gems.

PHILOSOPHY

Wish I could have stayed an irresponsible nomad traveling the world going from one odd job to another in my field of work, but life gave me an oportunity to settle temporarily or permanently in a place and job I love. So down-to-earth everyday while putting my responsibility suit for work but ready for adventure when it comes off.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with another person and a dog so not really available to lend my couch or floor unless people really don´t mind but I do wish to give my time to show people around, spread the knowledge of this region to promote it's beauty.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just heard about it by friends, but did my fair share of couch surfing on non members couches floors or lawn.

Interests

Outdoors activity in general but mostly hiking, outback skiing, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing (winter is long where I am so you have to make the best of it), volleyball with some rock climbing, snowshoeing, canoe, kayak and more. Art, museums and culture without being fully knowledgeable but I am open-minded and like seeing new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly folk or indie or alternative or bluegrass music for now : Jack Johnson, Mumford and sons, The Devil makes three, Cowboys fringants, Louise Attaque, Tryo, Ingrid St-Pierre and many more. Still like my Ska, punkish, rockish bands of when I was young and enjoying listening to some classic music when the mood is right.

Movies : The Dead poet Society, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Les Incroyables, etc.

Books ; John Krakauer´s Into thin air, The life of Sir Edmund Hillary, Bill Brysons Down Under, Le Roman de Renard, some of the Classics and some new ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard one to say! In reality I have done many amazing things in my life according to friends that seem quite normal in my perspective : big hikes, visiting many countries, working on capture projects to gain scientific knowledge in order to promote conservation .... I guess we can always chat about it

Teach, Learn, Share

Intriguing section! I think we have everything to teach, learn and mostly share with everyone. I think humility in not trying to sell one´s self or putting the other on a peddestle is key to a toughtfull and worthwhile conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge of where I have been and where I am residing, but mainly my good sense of humour and easy-going nature.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
