About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, meet its people, and refuse to stagnate.

ABOUT ME

I am a born-and-raised American, currently living and working in France. I bounced around a little growing up, which I think led to an insatiable wanderlust. I'm a mountain girl transplanted to the "Dirty South" transplanted to the countryside of France. My upbringing gave me a distinct respect for other cultures and a curiosity about everyone I meet.

PHILOSOPHY
Be a citizen of the world.
La vraie vie est ailleurs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled with a friend of mine during our "Vision Quest" when we were studying abroad in France. We met up with two really great guys, one in Bruxelles and one in Amsterdam. I was always a little worried about meeting random people, but the experience taught me that it's a good experience. I also enjoyed staying with a group of people in Cork who brought home an entire folk band from the bar one night.

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything!
As far as movies go, anything with a strong plot is worth a watch. My favorites are: Greenstreet Hooligans, Everything is Illuminated, The History Boys.

Music? Music is part of the human experience. I lean more towards anything folky, but my tastes span the spectrum..

Books. Harry Potter, of course. LOTR. Again, my taste runs the gamut, but my absolute favorite book is Brave New World.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most incredible moment I've had is the moment my nephew (who was born at 23 weeks) first held my fingers.

Visiting the beaches of Normandie was the most surreal, heartbreaking, beautiful experience of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of my bad French, or how to cook absolutely delectable South Western style food, or how to decipher someone's nonverbal communication. I work as a consultant in a Speaking Center, so if you're shy about public speaking, I can coach you.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
