ABOUT ME

I love spending time outside as much as possible. I grew up living on a sailboat in the Great Lakes. My parents set us loose on deserted Islands from the time we could walk. It developed a great love affair with traveling. Not just the destination, but journey (you learn this quickly as an 8 year old child on a sailboat).

My greatest desire is to open my eyes and slowly become less ignorant of the world around me. I seek to find my tiny place in this wide expanse and fill it with hope and gratitude.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to host surfers and surf as well. I'm also always up for coffee or lunch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the CouchSurfing community (as a website), but have been hosted by friends across the country. From Michigan to Alabama to Colorado, I've slept on couches, futons, cots, and floors.

I look forward to sleeping on couches and meeting the people they belong to, and the places they are from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Vaccinating Bulls for Rabies in Mexico. That was a wild experience! Nothing like chasing a bull around a tree and sticking a needle in its hip!

Honestly, it was a life changing experience. Over the course of a few years, I saw a village that had once been decimated by rabies financially, socially, and emotionally become a stronghold for rabies vaccinations, training, and live stock health. The village now trains their own authorities to administer vaccines in Xocenpich and the surrounding villages. It has been amazing to see the change for people!
