I am Džiugas, a 25 years old traveller from Lithuania. I spend most of my workdays in hospital as a doctor in training as an anaesthesiologist and intensivist, on evenings I go to pub quizzes.

I started travelling frequently during my university years and after the Covid lockdowns I went onto a revenge travelling spree that does not appear to end.

Having visited 70 countries, I am continuing my journey to see them all!

I have spent a month in Mexico on a medical internship and visited Taiwan and Rwanda to participate in global medical student community events. For the last 3 years I have been travelling every or every second month seeking to experience new sights, cultures, languages and cuisines.

I am mostly city and history fan, yet I also admire spectacles of the nature.
Being a railfan and public transport enthusiast I try to explore various modes of transportation, and I also carry my small radio to do some DXing when I travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like creating new connections and making new friends. Generally staying in hostels when travelling but some of my friends recommended joining and trying CS to enhance social side of my travel experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to immerse myself within local music once I am abroad, however personally I enjoy film soundtracks, especially James Bond ones. A Depeche Mode (and similar music) fan too.

Casino Royale (2006) and The Living Daylights (1987) are the best films I have ever seen, supplemented with Dekalog and other Kieslowski's creations.

Sadly, somehow I am not a natural reader of fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two 2-week-long solo trips (Italy→France→Monaco→Jersey→Germany→Poland and Tunisia→UK→Canaries) just with one bag.
