About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Extremely interested in learning about unique characteristics of cities within the US/around the world! Soaking in aspects and thoughts from different cultures is a great way to broaden one's perspectives on life. Looking forward to meeting CSers!

ABOUT ME

Born in Columbus, raised in the burbs, and now I'm working near downtown. Have a strong desire to travel across the US, especially along the west coast so I can cultivate a greener/hippie lifestyle. I welcome meeting anyone and everyone to enjoy what Columbus has to offer. Been making a greater effort to embrace each individual's personal differences and to become more open-minded.

PHILOSOPHY

While life is very comfortable in Columbus, I want to branch out to meet more awesome people and experience different lifestyles in various cities. It is easy to be complacent when I have lived in the same town for basically my entire life. Learning from and admiring each other's differences is a great way to grow and is something I want more practice in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking to move closer to downtown Columbus and should be able to host visitors by the end of the year. If I find cheap airfare, I may have to hit up CS hosts across the US for a few weekend pit stops! I plan to increase travelling beginning this summer so I can meet some cool CSers across the globe soon.

Interests

Understanding the culture of a city, admiring urban architecture, finding unique local food offerings, having fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies -- I watch only a handful of movies each year with the most recent one of note being Wreck It Ralph.

Music -- the Macklemore guy produces some catchy material. I listen to a bit of everything (alternative/pop, Jack Johnson, rap, and classical).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran the Tokyo Marathon in 2012, with only 1.5 days to adjust to 12 hour jet lag. The experience was both wonderful and painful at the same time. I will never forget!

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, China, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
