About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My main goal now is to publish as many remarkable children's books in translation as possible and organise workshops and other activities related to our books.

ABOUT ME

We've moved to New Zealand in December 2009 and have finally settled in relaxed Raumati on the Kapiti Coast, in a Swiss cottage style house at 500 meters from the beach. Our place is not flash, but it offers more than enough space for the four of us, our flatmate and guests.

We can offer you a couch in a semi-seperate room, preferable for one night. I'm working from home and might get too sidetracked if guests would stay too long. You are free to use our kitchen.

Keep in mind that Raumati is still a long way from Wellington!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When we heard about Couchsurfing we thought it was a great idea, but hesitated to join, mainly because of the kids. We thought it wouldn't be much fun for our guests if they were woken by screams at night.

When Scott brought home a German hitchhiker one night, Dirk, who stayed for dinner and eventually also for the night, our guest reassured us that the kids were no problem at all and we should definitely sign up with CS. I registered the next morning. Let's hope our other guests will enjoy the night at our place as much as Dirk!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've done some unofficial CS at our friends' place in Raumati before we moved here and are looking forward to our first real couchsurf, hopefully in New York.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the Franz Joseph glacier on the South Island of NZ was definitely my best nature experience ever.

I can get pretty high just by finding an extraordinary book in a second hand book shop or by eating home made cakes.
