About Me

I am currently on a one-year leave of absence from my job in Canada to travel. Primarily, I am spending most of the year travelling around Australia on a working-holiday (minus the working) but am using the location to travel around the region. I am also a chronic texter and often create my own hashtags. ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't like to impose on people, but there are some times where I just need a place to crash for a night or two and don't want to go through the hassle of figuring out / paying for accommodation. Plus I've heard really great things about this site, and I always love to meet locals when I travel!

Interests

I am a fairly active person and enjoy playing sports and doing outdoor activity-things. I am an avid dodgeball player back in Ottawa and also enjoy volleyball (beach), softball, ultimate frisbee, and dragon boating. I am currently working at getting into running and just ran my first 5km in Brisbane at the beginning of August, 2015. I also love cycling (road mostly).

I also love coffee and sampling local beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to music, movies and books. I'll listen or watch just about anything. For books, I am currently working through Game of Thrones ( I love the TV show!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think for me the most amazing thing I've done is at the age of 30, give up my life in Ottawa (for a year) to do something I've always wanted to do - to travel. I actually sold almost all of my possessions to do this. It was scary as hell, but I know I won't regret it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can provide some good conversation over a pint, some bottles of beer or a nice bottle of wine (my treat!)
